a sol. of slaked lime produced by the reaction Cao + H2O = Ca(OH)2 is used for white washing walls since olden times. calcium hydroxide reacts slowly with the CO2 in air to form a thin layer of calcium carbonate on the walls.Calcium Carbonate is formed after 2 to 3 day of white washing and gives a shiny finish to walls. It is interesting to note that marble is also Calcium Carbonate.
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O
cao(quick lime) when added to water (h2o) it gives ca(OH)2 which is calcium hydroxide.
Calcium Hydroxide-Ca(OH)2
reaction is used in white washing

It is CaOCl2 bleaching powder. Its chemical name is calcium oxy chloride
The compound BaSO4 is known as barium sulfate. Because of its white color, it is sometimes used for pigmentation, especially in paper.
It is a yellow-brown cyristaline compound used as a mordant in dyeing and as an etching compound.
The compound name for CaO is Calcium Oxide. It is also known as quicklime or burnt lime. It is mainly used as a chemical compound.
No prefix is used if it is an ionic compound. If it is a binary molecular compound, the prefix mono- is not used in front of the name of the first element. For example, the ionic compound Na2O is sodium oxide, not disodium monoxide, and the molecular compound CO2 is carbon dioxide, not monocarbon dioxide.
The Washing Pole is another name for a Japanese sword used by Sasaki Kojirō.
