Nitric Acid is the Stronger acid. it fully dissociates in water, to form H^+ & NO3^-

Formic Acid ( Methanoic Acid) is a weak acid . It only partially dissociates in water. That it does not fully release all the hydrogen ions in the acid .

Acetic acid is stronger than formic acid.

Is formic acid stronger than nitrous acid?

No, nitrous acid is stronger. Nitrous acid pKa = 4.5 x 10^-4, while formic acid pKa - 1.7 x 10^-4.

Formic acid is stonger than acetic acid?

yes formic acid is stronger than acetic acid.

Is acetic acid or nitric acid stronger?

Nitric acid is stronger than acetic acid. Nitric acid is a strong acid because it completely dissociates into ions in solution, while acetic acid only partially dissociates. This means that nitric acid can donate protons more readily than acetic acid.

Why formic acid is stronger acid than acetic acid?

Hydrochloric acid, HCl

Is nitric acid the weakest acid?

No. Nitric acid is a very strong acid. However, it's not the strongest acid in the world, though. Sulfuric acid is stronger than nitric acid, but the carbonic superacids are also stronger than sulfuric acid.

What is stronger nitric acid or ammonia?

There is no real basis for comparison but nitric acid is a strong acid and ammonia is a weak base.

Why formic acid is stronger than acetic acid?

As we know that acetic acid is CH3 substituted formic acid .since CH3 is an electron donating relative to hydrogen .so, it donates the electron to carboxyl group and makes it more negative. this phenomenon makes acetic acid weaker acid than formic acid .Thus formic acid is stronger acid than acetic acid. Is nitric acid stronger than acetic acid?

Yes - but do you have the correct meaning of strong in mind? It relates to degree of ionisation, nothing else. Nitiric acid is strong, acetic is weak. Colloquial use of the word strong in respect to acids etc. has no meaning.

Formic acid and chloroacetic acid stonger acid than acetic acid?

Formic acid and chloroacetic acid are stronger acids than acetic acid because they have a lower pKa value, which indicates a stronger tendency to donate a proton. This is attributed to the presence of electron-withdrawing groups in these acids that stabilize the conjugate base, enhancing their acidity.

Is hcl stronger than nitric acid?

Hydrochloric acid and nitric acid have comparable degrees of acidity; the strength of either acid will depend upon the concentration.
