A galvanized substance is that which has been coated with a layer of zinc to delay corrosion. It does this by the zinc getting corroded itself, instead of the substance.
The outer layer of zinc of any galvanized material, reacts with the atmospheric oxygen to form Zinc Oxide (ZnO), which is stronger than Zinc. Thus, even if the outer layer of zinc undergoes corrosion, the material is getting coated with a stronger substance (ZnO), and thus is better able to resist corrosion.
Zinc has a greater resistance to corrosion than iron does, however it will still eventually corrode away, leaving the iron surface exposed. Its main purpose is to prolong the resistance of iron by rusting instead of it.
This is caused by a prolonged dripping tap, normally with galvanised rusting pipes.
Ways to protect metal from corrosion: 1. Galvanisation is method of protecting steel & iron from rusting by coating them with a thin layer of zinc. The galvanised article is protected against rusting even if the zinc coating is broken. 2. Painting, greasing & oiling are some commonly used methods to prevent rusting. 3. Chrome plating, anodising & making alloys are some other ways to prevent corrosion of metals.
Galvanising is the process of application of zinc coating on steel surfaces. It prevents steel surface from rusting.
You don't want stuff falling off your roof, so you don't want the nails to rust. Zinc, unlike other metals, will not rust, so you wrap the nail with a coat of zinc to prevent rusting.
In current use, the term refers to the coating of steel or iron with zinc. This is done to prevent rusting of the ferrous item.

The zinc coating of galvanizing delays the oxidation (rusting) of the iron for a long time.
How is iron gate is prevented from rusting
Metals are prevented from rusting by providing a coating on the surface of the metal to stop the metal from mixing with oxygen and H2O in the air. Please do not copy this word for word. I am handing this in for a report. Thanks!
Coating prevent the iron from contacting air and moisture. So it prevents iron from rusting.
Iron can be prevented from rust not only by painting but also by coating the iron byzinc . But when we paint iron ,the hydrated oxide presented in the rust iron(Fe2O3.2H2O)can be prevented . Reaction of the iron with air ,water Etc can be prevented.
Galvanized tubes are steel tubes that are coated with zinc to protect them from rusting.
Not, as of yet, but you could try it. rusting can only be prevented or treated thereafter.
they are normally formed from plastics or galvanised steel (steel that is coated in zinc to prevent it rusting)
yes i have coating to put inside a 3200 gal water tank to keep it from rusting
by prevent the object away from the contact of oxygen. it can prevent an object from rusting.
