What are the characteristics of mixtures?

In chemistry, a mixture is when two or more different substances are mixed together but not combined chemically. The molecules of two or more different substances are mixed in the from of solutions, suspensions, and colloids. While there are no physical changes in a mixture, the chemical properties of a mixture, such as its melting point may differ from those of its components. Mixtures can usually be separated into its original components by mechanical means. Mixtures are either homogeneous or heterogeneous. Mixtures are the product of a blending or a mixing of chemical substances such as elements or compounds without chemical bonding or other chemical change, so that each ingredient substance retains its own chemical properties and makeup. It is made up of two different substances but are not chemically combined. Therefore, the characteristics depend on the mixture itself. There are three forms of mixtures: the solution, wherein detection of one substance is impossible for the naked eye due to dissolving, the suspension, wherein substances are easily identified due to the substance being large in molecule, immobile or semi-immobile, and the colloids, wherein the substance is not completely dissolved and not completely suspended.

How do you distinguised np-hplc and rp-hplc?

NP-HPLC is "Normal Phase" HPLC, wherein the solvents used are less polar than the substrate in the HPLC column (e.g. using hexane or dichloromethane with a silica HPLC column). RP-HPLC is "Reverse-Phase" HPLC, wherein the solvents used are more polar than the substrate in the HPLC column (e.g. using Water and Methanol with a octadecylsilane (ODS or C18) column).

How could you test a prediction?

This is a process wherein a forecast of events is based on observation. Predictions can reliable only when there is regularity in the changes observed. Predictions are also safe if the variables can be controlled or if there are less variables that can possibly affect predictions. One can predict what is to happen at a certain time when predictions are based on observations and past experience. Predictions, therefore, can be within or beyond observed events.Interpolation is a prediction made based on observed data, while extrapolation is a forecast beyond observed data.
