Firstly I would like to correct you on your grammar. The question should in fact ask 'which' element gains 5 electrons. The question is also flawed form the start because more than one element gains 5 electrons.

All elements in group 3 of the Periodic Table have 5 spaces in the outer shell. All elements want to feel complete, and the maximum amount of elements on the outer shell is 8. Therefore 3 + 5 = 8. So hey presto this is my answer to you. ~K :)

The number of electrons in the outermost shell of an element is 5 what is its valency and why?

Its valency is 3 i.e. 8-5.The element is a non metal since it has 5 electrons in the outermost shell.Hence, it is very difficult for the element to loose 5 electrons and would be easier togain 3 electrons .Hence, the element gains 3 electrons and thus we consider its valencyto be 8- no. of valence electrons.

Which reactive element will gain or loses an electron?

Generally metals lose electrons and nonmetals gain electrons.

Which element will gain three electrons to form an anion?

Nitrogen will gain three electrons to form a nitride anion with a charge of -3.

An element that has two outer electrons seeks to gain six more?

An element that has two outer electrons is carbon. Carbon would not use the energy to gain six more electrons when it can easily get rid of the two outer electrons.

The gain of electrons by an element is called what?

The loss of an electron is called oxidation. Its opposite is reduction. The loss of an electron increases the charge by +1.

Would an atoms with 3 electrons in level m tend to gain or loose electrons?

An atom with 3 electrons in level M would tend to either gain 5 electrons to complete level M or lose 3 electrons to complete the previous level. The tendency would depend on the element and its electronegativity.

How many electrons are needed to be gained to obtain a Noble Gas Configuration for the element Al?

Aluminium should gain 5 electrons or lose 3 electrons. It will normally lose 3 electrons to form Al3+ ion, rather than gaining 5 electrons and forming Al5- ion.
