Polony is made from all the scraps we get from the lean meat cuts. very unhealthy to be honest. just a way we make use of all the crap parts we get from beef and pork.

Well I do not know about the unhealthy part, for all parts of the meat used in polonies are not "unhealthy" it is all organic material consisting of some form of meat and protein.

I make many polonies every day, expensive ones cheap ones, good ones and less good ones as it comes to quality.

Most butchers uses MDM (Mechanical De boned Meat) either from turkey or from chicken. It does not mean it is unhealthy, it just mean, that it is not prime quality.

The less expensive polonies are made from up to 90% MDM, and soy, and or starch protein. Still not unhealthy, just cheaper than the "full" meat product.

I use pork skin instead, and I like the quality and the taste, I am eating it at home and my children also like it very much. Much better than MDM.

What is unhealthy, is all the colorants and the preservatives some manufacturers use.

Enjoy your cheap polony,
