Startch have two types of polymer chain, one is amylose and another is amylopectin.Amylose is simple straight chain of glucose(1--->4 linkage),while amylopectin have branching. At branching point, there is 1--->6 linage and 1--->4 linkage in every subchain.

So,in startch 1-6 linkage comes after 20 to 25 gucose monomer, while in gycogen this linkage comes very frequently.....

Starch, glycogen and cellulose are all polymers of glucose. They differ in the type of glucose present and the bonds which link the glucose monomers together. Starch and glycogen are made from alpha-glucose. ... Starch is itself composed of two types of polymer:amylose and amylopectin.

There are two forms of starch, these are amylose and amylopectin. Glycogen is similar to amylopectin but it has more extensive branching. Starch is found in plants, and glycogen in animals.

Structurally, glycogen has more branches than starch. These branches occur in glycogen every 8 to 14 pieces, as opposed to the 24 to 30 pieces in starch.

What type of polysaccharide is found in potatoes?

Starch is found potatoes, not Glycogen. Glycogen is the plant equivalent of animal glycogen. A potato has starch but no glycogen; muscle cells have glycogen but no starch. The starch we eat is broken into glucose in the stomach/small intest and then reassembled in the muscle cells as glycogen.

Give another name for glycogen and anothere name for starch?

Glycogen is the analogue of starch, a less branched glucose polymer in plants and is commonly referred to as ANIMAl STARCH, having a similar structure to amylopictin. Starch is naturally abundant carbohydrate are also known as PLANT STARCH or GLUCOSAN.

Is your body capable of converting starch into glycogen?

Glycogen. Starch is exclusive to plant storage of carbohydrates.
