She is one of the First Thomasians to receive the OYS award. She contributed alot to books and has become a well known organic chemists in the Philippines. I believe the best organic chemist in the country. Her work deals with tanins, flavanoids, steroid, alkalanes, lactones and etc compounds found in indeginous plants of the Philippines. She was the co-founder and first president of the Natural Products Society of the Philippines and the first president having occupying the position for 2 terms. In 2005, she was elected a chairperson of the Division of Chemical Sciences of the National Research Council of the Philippines. I hope i have helped you. She is currently my professor. I believe one of the most important contributions she has made is that, even though she is a full-time researcher, she still gives time to teach what she knows about organic chemistry and etc.
