There is no product other than "Dry moving air" that will absorb mass quantities of water from a carpet.

There is a product called Capture, from Milliken co. that is absorbent but it is designed as a cleaner not an absorbent fro removing water.

The other thing to be careful with is the subfloor, and carpet padding if any. That will not dry with the carpet still over it & mold & mildew become a real issue very fast. If a wood subfloor stays wet very long expect buckling and degradation of the wood subfloor. You need to get it all dry & fast.

Does alcohol absorb odor in carpet?

Yes, alcohol can help absorb odor from carpet by breaking down and neutralizing compounds that cause the smell. However, it may not completely eliminate strong or persistent odors and may not be suitable for all types of carpet fibers. It's recommended to test a small, hidden area of the carpet first to ensure it won't cause damage.

How do you remove vomit stains on carpet?

Most food stains will come out with detergent and water, or with surfactants such as in carpet cleaners. However, some deep set stains resist removal. Depending on the type of carpet, it may be safe to lightly sponge with isopropanol (found in some metal cleaners) to remove the pigments deposited. You can use very dilute white vinegar to remove stains left by stomach acid. This is highly dependent on the fabric/polymer used in the carpet, so test on a similar material before using any organic solvents. (Isopropanol is among the safest and is used as a solvent in many fabric glues. Acetone in nail polish remover can discolor fabrics, as can naphtha in lighter fluid.) -- There is also a commercial product sold for various stains left by pets, which has enzymes that can break down complex food stains.

Is dry cleaning actually dry?

Carpet dry cleaning is the generic term used for a system of carpet called bonnet cleaning. Carpet dry cleaning requires some moisture to carry the chemicals in the process to release and break down the soiling and staining. On average, carpet dry cleaning will require about 1 litre of moisture per room and the carpet will be totally dry in 1 to 2 hours after cleaning.

What side of the carpet padding goes up?

Some carpet paddings have a webbing or moisture barrier coating on one side. If you're installing over wood floors the moisture barrier goes up to prevent spills from soaking into the padding. If installing over cement below ground level the moisture barrier goes down, against the concrete - to prevent condensation and ground seepage from penetrating through the pad.

On cold days how do you prevent moisture from forming on the inside of the glass before you turn on the defroster?

To prevent moisture from forming on the inside of the glass on cold days, you can start by ensuring your car's interior is dry before getting in. Using a microfiber cloth to wipe down the windows can help remove any existing moisture. Additionally, you can leave the windows slightly cracked to allow for air circulation, which can reduce humidity levels inside the vehicle. Lastly, using a silica gel pack or a moisture-absorbing product can help absorb excess moisture in the car.

Why do wet biscuits lose their crunchiness and become soggy when exposed to moisture?

When wet biscuits are exposed to moisture, the water molecules penetrate the biscuit, causing it to soften and lose its crunchiness. This happens because the moisture breaks down the structure of the biscuit, making it absorb the water and become soggy.

Can you install carpet on top of carpet?

It is generally not a recommended procedure. The abrasion of carpet on carpet will cause both layers to wear prematurely. Certain types of glue down carpet can be installed over existing glue down carpet. Check the manufactures installation instructions. I do agree that installing stretch in carpet over existing stretch in carpet is not a good idea.

Will a wetbulb cool down more on a dry or humid day?

A wet bulb will cool down more on a dry day because the dry air has a greater capacity to absorb moisture, resulting in more evaporation from the wet bulb and therefore a greater cooling effect compared to a humid day where the air is already saturated with moisture.
