The same thing that happened the last twenty times new information was discovered: the model would be revised to reflect the new information.
It is impossible to make reliable forecasts. I guess in what concerns the structure of atoms that surprises will not occur in the future; but for the atomic nucleus would appear likely that new data are possible.
