Na2SO3 + KMnO4 ---> K2SO3 + NaMnO4

All solutions are aqeous. It's a simple double replacement reaction.

Its a Redox Equation not a double replacement KMnO4 is a common oxidizing agent im not sure about the answer but i guess it has to change KMnO4 into MnO

Why is NaOH used in oxidation using KMnO4?

NaOH is used in oxidation reactions with KMnO4 to maintain a basic pH, which helps stabilize KMnO4. This ensures that the permanganate ion (MnO4-) remains in its most reactive form, allowing more efficient oxidation of organic compounds. Additionally, NaOH helps to dissolve solid KMnO4 and facilitates the reaction process.

What happens when you mix naoh sugar kmno4 in water?

When you mix NaOH (sodium hydroxide), sugar, and KMnO4 (potassium permanganate) in water, a reaction can occur. The sugar will likely react with KMnO4, reducing it to a different oxidation state, while NaOH can also react with the sugar. This reaction could potentially release heat and produce various intermediate compounds and products. It is crucial to handle these chemicals with care as they can be potentially hazardous.

What cations will form a precipitate when mixed with a solution of sodium hydroxide NaOH K Mg or Na Ions?

When mixed with a solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), a precipitate will form with magnesium (Mg) cations. The magnesium hydroxide formed is sparingly soluble in water, leading to the precipitation reaction. Potassium (K) and sodium (Na) cations do not precipitate when mixed with NaOH as their hydroxides are highly soluble in water.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ACIDS AND AND BASES ARE MIXED TOGETHER?

When they are mixed together, a chemical reaction occurs. This chemical reaction is called neutralisation reaction. It is called so because they both neutralise each other to produce a salt and water. Also remember the following points.When a strong acid and weak base are mixed, the salt formed is an acidic salt.When a strong base and weak acid are mixed, the salt formed is a basic salt.When both the acid and base are strong, then the salt formed is a neutral salt .

Which 2 substances when mixed together will always give an alkaline solution?

Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and water will always create an alkaline solution when mixed together. Additionally, ammonia (NH3) and water will also produce an alkaline solution when combined.

What is the pH of the solution formed when 100 milliliter of hcl is mixed with 100 milliliter of NaOH?

I think it'd be pH 7. Same amount of both, providing they are the same molarity!

What happens when you mix Sodium Acetate with NaOH?

When Sodium Acetate is mixed with NaOH, a double displacement reaction occurs, leading to the formation of water and sodium hydroxide, along with sodium acetate. The reaction can be represented as follows: CH3COONa + NaOH → CH3COONa + H2O The sodium acetate remains in the solution, while water and sodium hydroxide are formed as byproducts.
