Tellurium was discovered in Zlatna, Translyvania by Franz Muller von Reichstein. he discovered it when he was inspecting a gold mine. It was found discovered combined with gold. Franz thought it was antimony, and then found out it was not. the name comes from the Latin word tellus, which means Earth.
