Diffusion in liquids This is because the particles in liquids can move around each other, which means that eventually they are evenly mixed. ... Diffusion in liquids is slower than in gases because the particles in a liquid move more slowly.

Chemical reactions occur when a particular part of one element or molecule meets a particular part of another element or molecule. The reaction works similar to putting a key in a lock. elements and molecules move much faster at high temperatures than they do at slower temperatures. When they move faster, they bounce into each other many more times. Thus, they have many more opportunities to hit the spot where the chemical reaction will occur.

In gases there are large vacant spaces among the molecules therefore molecules of one gas easily enter into molecules of another gas and kinetic energy of gaseous molecules is higher than liquid molecules.
