Pure aluminum isn't used for ANYTHING--even a cola can is made from aluminum alloy. Aerostructures are made from various aluminum alloys chosen for their strength, workability or other desirable characteristics.
This is due to the fact that Aluminium is just not strong enough on its own so is turned into an alloy (metals mixed together) in this case it would have a majority of Aluminum. And also it would not be completely rust proof so a galvanised layer is added to preserve the alloy underneath.
this is because the alloy of aluminum is stronger than pure aluminum
Aluminum-magnesium alloys are used in making parts in aircraft. Aluminum-magnesium alloys are lighter than other aluminum alloys and much less flammable than alloys that contain a very high percentage of magnesium.Aluminum alloys are alloys in which aluminum (Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon and zinc.Aluminum alloys are widely used in engineering structures and components where light weight or corrosion resistance is required.Alloys composed mostly of aluminum have been very important in aerospace manufacturing since the introduction of metal skinned aircraft.
coz single elements cant withstand impact with birds and such like, so they designed an alloy that could withstand impact at 600mph
Magnesium is a very flammable metal when heated to its flash point. Once it starts to burn, it is nearly impossible to extinguish, hence its use in magnesium road flares. It can be safely used in some alloys, but the cost is prohibitive.

because of its mixture.
Alloy aluminum is lighter in weight.

aluminium alloy
Aluminium is used in the manufacturing of aircraft bodies. It has a low density so the aircraft is lighter and is able to fly easily up in the air.
Iron is heavier than aluminium. Aluminium is easier to form, shape and machine.

Because it's strong and very light.
Many reasons mainly that aluminum is lighter and is flexible and will not shatter like glass. That being said, aircraft bodies have been made of composite materials like fiberglass (or carbon fiber, or occasionally Kevlar) which is glass cloth with a epoxy binder. Also Plywood (the spruce goose) also canvas cloth stretched across a frame and then coated with "dope" to stiffen it.
Aluminium
Aluminium is a light, but strong metal. This makes it very useful, for example it can be used for making aircraft bodies because of these properties.Aluminium is also used to surround overhead cables because it's light & it's a good conductor of electricity.
This is because aluminium is not strong enough on its own.
