I found a solution!
My boyfriend put my running shoes on the kitchen table (his, not mine) and I found them this morning after he had left for work. Disgusted (we live in NYC) I immediately took to lysoling the spot. To my Horror, in a matter of seconds the table's finish in the spot I was rubbing was turning a cloudy white. I spent the past 20 minutes scouring blogs for a solution and all I could find were unanswered posts such as this one. Finally, I halfheartedly tried a solution to a watermarks post and... it worked!
Mayonnaise. Take a glob of mayonnaise and rub it into the effected area. I didn't think it had worked at first and returned to my computer for more searching. When I looked back at the table 3 minutes later the white cloud was gone!!
Hope this helps!
