A:
Left Behind is a series of novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, about the end of the world, as envisaged by Christian dispensationalists. LaHaye is also responsible for a number of books placed in the non-fiction category, that also deal with pretribulation, premillennial Rapture theology, and one could suppose that this avowedly fictional series is designed to foster interest in the author's theology. The books have variously been described as "fast-paced" and "action packed," or "almost laughably tedious" and "fatuous and boring." Some have described the authors' tone as anti-Jewish and anti-Catholic.
The series was first published 1995-2007 by Tyndale House, a firm with a history of interest in dispensationalism.
