As per I.S code 3370 part I & II, there is 40mm tolerance for leakage for R.C.C structures. following method are used for measuring the leakage.

1) if the tank capacity more 6ml, tank should be fill by 1/3 for reading step by step and tress the leakages.

2) After tress, mark the spot and use appropriate method for attend the same. such as epoxy grouting, epoxy material and any other method which is suitable as per site condition.

3) take reading with pizometer and subtract the reading which is received from evaporation pan. take final reading. reading is taken after 24 Hr up to seven day.

Adopt this procedure for hydro testing of R.C.C structure. if leakage found more than 40mm. whole procedure should be repeat again.

What has bureau of Indian Standard piblished for safe building construction?

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has published various standards and guidelines for safe building construction, particularly through codes such as IS 456 for reinforced concrete and IS 3370 for concrete structures in water-retaining applications. These standards address aspects like material quality, structural integrity, and safety measures to ensure durability and resilience against natural disasters. Additionally, BIS provides guidelines on building practices, earthquake resistance, and energy efficiency to promote safe and sustainable construction methods across India.

How much does a 6inch x 8inch x 4inch retaining wall brick weigh?

The weight of a retaining wall brick can vary based on the material it's made from, but a standard concrete brick of this size (6 inches x 8 inches x 4 inches) typically weighs around 6 to 8 pounds. Therefore, a single brick of this dimension would likely weigh approximately 7 pounds on average. It's important to check specific product details for accurate weight, as different manufacturers may use varying densities of concrete.

What is the importance of standard consistency test?

by standard consistency test we determine standard consistency of cement which is denoted by p. as we know standard consistency value for a cement its value is used for making the paste for determining setting time, soundness, compressive strength of cement

What will satisfy the ASTM standard requirements for normal consistency of cement?

To satisfy the ASTM standard requirements for normal consistency of cement: The Amount of Water that brings the cement paste to standard condition should vary between 22% to 30% by weight of dry cement.
