The man with the shield and trident is actually a woman, the warrior Britannia, who personifies Great Britain, and has appeared on various British Coins for hundreds of years. If the coin is absolutely identical on both sides, it highly possible that you have two coins cut across and stuck together. Have a close look at the edge for any sign of the joining of two coins. If you still believe the coin to be genuine, take it to a reputable coin dealer for authentication and valuation.
