Can Canadareconcile its sovereign control of water with its commitment to internationalism?

Absolutely. Internationalism is not necessarily synonymous with supranational groups such as the U.N., World Bank, and IMF. These organizations have too often been co-opted by entitites for thier own private interests or agendas, which is diametrically opposed to true internationalism, and natural globalization. Canada can remain in control of its water resources through bilateral agreements with other nations, regardless of political ideology, economic system, or predominant religious affiliation. This would ensure control remains with Canada as opposed to water markets and privitization, which historically have not distributed water rights equally, due to interference from special interest groups. This model will allow Canada to remain internationalist in it's objective and fair in its application, free of ideological or monetary interference. Caution should be taken with the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), co-opted by U.S. interest in Canada's fresh water supplies. The agreement would allow the movement of environmental goods (fresh water) through the implementation of water markets, with the usual speculation and intererence that has been dominant in other markets.
