The two types are the Morgan Dollar (common, only worth silver scrap) and the Peace Dollar (worth much more than silver scrap, especially if uncirculated) The easiest way to distinguish between the two types is to look on the reverse, the Morgan dollar has an Eagle, wings stretched surrounded by a wreath. The Peace dollar has an eagle sitting on a rock inscribed PEACE with its wings folded.

What you are referring to is the 1924 Peace dollar. It is not misspelled! It simply uses the Latin alphabet where the "U" is the same character as the "V" today. Both the Peace dollar and the Standing Liberty looks like it says "In God we Trvst" but both coins use the Latin alphabet for stylistic reasons. It depends, has the year worn off? If so what is the variety of the dollar, if it is a Morgan or Peace, it isn't worth more than silver scrap, about $20-25 depending on silver's price. If it is an earlier type it may be worth more. If it was minted without a year, it isn't a US coin but might just be a privately minted coin, without seeing it in person it is impossible to tell the value of a token.
