The Plasto Manufacturing Company began manufacturing portable lamps and other plastic items in 1945. A portable lamp with the issue number 53,904 was probably manufactured sometime in 1947.
I just saw a roy rogers and trigger lamp from plasto mfr. going for $450, on the RubyLane antiques website. This lamp was 15 and 1/2" tall and wasn't very colorful. My lamp is smaller, but really bright, with lots of colors, so I think, maybe it's worh more. Good luck!
Many of the lamps are worth prices close to $150 each. The exact price will depend upon the actual lamp and its condition.
Hi, I have Plasto Mfg Co table lamp I received in 1980. The name Glenn Richardson is stamped on the lamp. The base is shaped as a drum with three patriots two playing drums and one playing flute with a thirteen star American flag behind them. The shade is dark blue with small red and white stars. Might this be worth more than the $20 my daughter wants to sell it for at our yard sale? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you, Michael Rakus (mrakus617@hotmail.com)
