brazing is joining of two metals by using filler metals.to melts the filler rods only which temperature is above the melting point (>450c).initially flux metal is used to avoid the oxidation ....this process is very strongly than soldering method ...weaker than welding method..

Why is extraction a very important part of the brazing hearth?

Extraction is crucial in the brazing hearth because it removes harmful fumes, smoke, and gases generated during the brazing process, ensuring a safe working environment for operators. Effective extraction also helps maintain the quality of the brazed joints by preventing contamination from airborne particles. Additionally, proper ventilation aids in temperature control, which is essential for achieving optimal brazing results. Overall, extraction systems contribute to both safety and product integrity in brazing operations.

What are the advantages of a brazing hearth?

A brazing hearth offers several advantages, including efficient heat distribution, which ensures uniform heating of the workpieces for consistent results. Its design allows for easy access to the materials being brazed, facilitating quick adjustments and monitoring during the process. Additionally, a brazing hearth can enhance safety by containing fumes and sparks, while also promoting better temperature control and energy efficiency. Overall, it improves the quality and reliability of brazed joints.

Why is extraction a very important part of the brazing hearth set up?

The fumes that are extracted via extraction are seriously harmful to our lungs.

Which brazing rod do you use when brazing copper to brass?

You should use solder, not brazing. Brazing is used to join iron or steel products together.

Can brazing stick to metal?

Yes, brazing can stick to metal by creating a strong bond between the brazing material and the metal surface through the application of heat. Brazing relies on capillary action to securely join two or more metal pieces together.

What is another name for brazing?

Brazing is also known as soldering or soft soldering in the layman vernacular.

Are soldering and brazing fluxes the same?

No, soldering and brazing fluxes are not the same. Soldering fluxes are designed to remove oxides from the metal surfaces being joined during soldering, while brazing fluxes are formulated to clean the joint and promote wetting for the filler metal in brazing processes. Additionally, brazing fluxes can handle higher temperatures compared to soldering fluxes.
