A nerdfighter is not a person who fights nerds1, despite the immediate impression made by the word. The word 'nerdfighter' is modelled on 'freedom fighter', rather than on 'fire-fighter'. Nerdfighters are people who believe that the world 'sucks'2 and that they can help to change that. They are usually intelligent and they come from all over planet Earth3. They are known for their belief that they are composed internally of awesome4.
Nerdfighting is the act of decreasing 'world suck'. We fight against suck... we fight for awesome. We fight using our brains, our hearts, our calculators and our trombones.
-- Hank Green, a founder of modern nerdfighting
Nerdfighting can be any activity that either helps to remove stress (such as writing an enjoyable novel), or directly helps others (such as moving to Africa to teach the impoverished).
Nerdfighteria is an online community founded by Hank and John Green. They make videos on YouTube. John Green is an award winning author (Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and The Fault in Our Stars) and Hank Green is a musician and songwriter (So Jokes, Ellen Hardcastle, I'm So Bad At This- Live) and editor of EcoGeek. Nerdfighters is an online community that sprung up as the following/fandom/thing of these videos, but to be a Nerdfighter, you don't necessarily have to watch the Vlogbrothers. If you want to be a Nerdfighter, then you are one. We fight to increase world awesome and decrease world suck in any of a variety of ways… mostly nerdy ways. Sometimes this involves actually charity sort of work (the Project for Awesome) and sometimes it just involves being cool or making things and stuff. It's just basically all the awesome-fandom-nerd stuff in the world combined into a single thing.
A quick explanation of all this and more can be found at the Vlogbrothers FAQ at www.youtube.com/vlogbrothers
1 Nerds, in case you are not aware, are highly intellectual, often socially awkward, and usually passionate in their field (eg, 'radio nerd' would be used to describe a person passionate about radio).
2 Something which sucks can be negative in any way.
3It has been said that some may be on Jupiter, but this has not been confirmed.
4 This is, of course impossible, because 'awesome' is an adjective, not a noun. However, many nerdfighters ignore this and use awesome as a noun anyway. The word in this context means the same as the adjective: that the object described is worthy of awe.

They find a girl who shares common interests with them because every girl is beautiful. They just have to find the one they like. Also try the Nerdfighter fandom.
If you wish to read the novel Paper Towns by popular young adult author and nerdfighter John Green, I would firstly recommend visiting your local library. If you have a library card (which are usually free to obtain), you will be able to check out the book for free for an amount of time (usually in the vicinity of one to two weeks). If there are no libraries, I would advise purchasing Paper Towns. This book can be found at any bookstore in the Young Adult section. It can also be found on online retail stores such as Amazon.com. If you have an e-book, a digital copy of Paper Towns is available for purchase.
Yes. First of all, there are nerd girls too. Second, "nerd" is not a personality trait but rather a kind of behavior. Love is based on personality however, and behavior is comparably easy to change. It's true however that as a nerd you will tend to have less chances of finding a girlfriend simply because you have less contact with girls. Of course! Define nerd anyways. most people call really smart people nerds so... well i wish you luck Sure. There are many nerd girls out there, and if you aren't confident around girls in real life, then you may want to visit the site "Nerdfighter", where lots of people (girls included) who call themselves nerds talk.
Do you mean instead of parenthesis? If so, then there are several situations in which you use one or the other. When you are just writing your own work, say in a research report, then you include the abbreviation in parenthesis.Example: The Nerdfighter's slogan is Don't Forget To Be Awesome (DFTBA).Example: The coldest temperature on Earth was -128 degrees Fahrenheit (°F)However, if you are typing an exact quote, then anything that wasn't originally included in that quote would be in square brackets. Oftentimes square brackets would be used to clarify something the speaker said.If you did mean inside of parenthesis, then no, there's no reason for there to be brackets. Just use parenthesis.
