I also have this coin and recently traded it in for $345 to a coin collecting friend. Im sure you can get much more for this rare valuable coin.
Not sure who posted this answer, but I also have this coin and did some research. first of all this coin has a mint total of over 200 million, so it is not a rare coin. Second the highest value I could find on this coin is about $5.00 for an uncirculated pristine condition. Im sorry, but you have really ripped off your friend for a coin that's probably worth .89 cents USD.
First of all, your wrong. If the coin says 1000 on it, it's probably 1000 pesos, 12.5 pesos is equal to one dollar. So 1000 divided by 12.5 equals 80, you probably did rip off your friend, because it's only worth $80, my suggestion is to sell it on eBay for a higher price, I too have one of these coins, if not on eBay, try the pawn shop, they will likely give you a little less of your money's worth, but if eBay doesn't work, try the pawn shop, your bound to get some money there!
OK. I Was wondering the same thing. I emailed 2 ppl, one says its worth over $80 and one says its worth only 10Cents. Im not sure who to trust on the internet
Okay, This coin could be worth $80 or $.08, It depends on the year because the old pesos were replaced by the new pesos in 1993. 1000 old pesos equals 1 new peso. 1 new peso equals roughly 8 cents. So if it was before '93 then it is worthless, but if its after '93 than it could be worth 80 dollars.

The 1988 1000 Juana de Asbaje is a commemorative banknote from Mexico, featuring the renowned poet Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Its value can vary significantly based on condition, rarity, and collector demand, typically ranging from around $5 to $20 for those in average condition. For pristine examples or those graded highly, prices could be higher. It's best to check with a numismatic expert or a recent price guide for the most accurate valuation.
100-1000 depending on specifics.
That's actually a 1000 peso Mexican coin made from brass. In circulated condition, it's worth about a dollar. A nice uncirculated one is worth about $10-$15 You can find many of these by doing a search on eBay. See the related link below.
Stamped on the head on the right hand side.
You are likely referring to the large aluminum-bronze coin (no gold content), picturing 17th century Sister Juana de Asbaje on front. In perfect uncirculated condition, this coin would have a value of approximately $5.75 to a collector - and in circulated condition, up to $2.
