This British-Canadian gold Sovereign coin (1 Pound) depicts King George V (1910-36) as well as Pistrucci's rendition of St. George slaying a dragon. The C mintmark letter below the horse's rear hoof indicates it was minted and used in Canada. A sovereign should weigh 7.988 grams and would contain .2354 of an ounce of gold. There were only 3,715 minted that year. Value is likely about $300 with heavy wear to around $500 with moderate wear to maybe $700 with light wear. You may find similar pieces on Ebay.com for comparison. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info. Brad
