Schillings (with a "c") were the currency unit in Austria until 2002 when the euro was adopted.

Shillings (without a "c") were used in many countries of the British Empire / Commonwealth. They were normally worth 1/20 of the major currency unit, usually the pound sterling or its equivalent. When those countries adopted decimal currencies the shilling was phased out or made interchangeable with a decimal coin.
