There is only one member of the House of Windsor on the coinage in the United Kingdom, other former colonial nations, and dependent territories. (E.g. Canada, and the Falklands Islands) The one member that appears on the coinage is head of that household which is currently Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.

The United Kingdom has been ruled continuously by a succession of Kings and Queens for over one thousand years. This has continued until present day. With a small exception when the United Kingdom was ruled as a republic by Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century following a civil war, however on his death the monarchy was restored. Please note the reference above to Her Most Excellent Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is currently ruled over by our beloved and long serving Queen. So to suggest we no longer ruled by a monarch, is simply incorrect. We do however in the United Kingdom live in a constitutional monarchy. This simply means that the reigning monarch is not absolute. Great Britain is a Parliamentary democracy, meaning that the people may elect a Member of Parliament to represent them. The political party with 326 or more Members of Parliament form a Government. This Government is formed in the name of Her Majesty the Queen. Hence the expression Her Majesty's Government.

It is common knowledge around the world the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada to name a few, have on their military insignia a crown. This is the Imperial Crown this represents that the person wearing such a uniform is acting in the name of their Queen. (Or King on the death of the Queen).

Her Majesty the Queen, is also Head of the established church in England. Passports are issued in Her name, with Her Majesty's Coat of Arms on the cover.

It is not true that we here in the United Kingdom are no longer ruled by our Queen. We are not a republic. Our Queen remains on the throne through popular consent. (Republicanism is not very strong in the United Kingdom).

Why is Detroit no longer the capital of Michigan?

Detroit was the capital city of Michigan when it was admitted into the Union on January 26, 1837. The capital city was relocated to Lansing in 1847, due to the need to develop the state's western portion and for easy defense from British troops stationed in Windsor, Ontario.
