UCF fans wore red bandanas at the Boston College Football game to honor BC grad Welles Crowther who was killed in the terror attacks on Sept 11th. He was in one of the towers when the plane hit it and he saved the lives of at least 12 people but did not make it out of the tower. The story is detailed in a short film, "The Man in the Red Bandana" which was shown on ESPN. Two UCF students saw the film and wanted to honor Crowther at the UCF-BC football game by having fans wear red bandanas during the game. There were red bandanas everywhere all day! Even Knightro, the school's mascot wore one. It was a very classy gesture on the part of all UCF fans! BC had Crowther's sisters attend the game. They were introduced during a time out and were quite touched by the UCF fans.
