How many pieces of wood in a rick of wood?
A cord of firewood is 4 ft tall by 8 ft long by 2 rows wide.
Firewood is usually cut about 16-18" wide, depending on who is
cutting it. A rick, or apartment stack, is 4 ft tall, 4 ft long,
and one row wide, so you're looking at about 4'x4'x16".
So yes, there IS a way to measure a rick. We cut and sell
firewood for extra money in the winter and ricks and cords have a
specific size.
A chord is 4'x4'x8' that's four feet tall , four feet wide and
eight feet in length . If the fire wood is cut in two foot lengths
then its two rick to a chord , If the fire wood is 16 inch lengths
then 3 rick to a chord , If the fire wood is cut for cook stoves at
one foot lengths then four rick to a chord , There's a lot more
work in shorter wood so cost can be whatever the seller is
asking
