Because they have the same initials. Do you believe that?! We you should because it is the truth. That is why the WWF changed its name to the WWE in 2002. They lost the lawsuit. I guess someone was scared that someone else might confuse Hulk Hogan with a large ape. Then again.......
WCW didn't become WWE, WWF became WWE. Back in the late 1990's-early 2000s, both wrestling promotions WWF and WCW were feuding with each other in the ratings, until WWF bought WCW out and now no longer exists. The reason WWF became WWE is because the World Wildlife Foundation (Also known as WWF) was established 1961, which was before WWWF shortened their name to WWF in 1979. So even though "the company WWE" existed before the World Wildlife Foundation, it changed its name to the World Wildlife Foundation's initials "WWF". So in 2002, the World Wildlife Foundation decided to sue WWF, for the initials which forced the WWF to change its name and it was decided to be from there called World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Basicly it went from WWWF to WWF to WWE. No WCW was involved in the process except the fact that WWF bought WCW out.
Because The World Wrestling Federation had The Same Initials (wwf) As The World Wildlife Fund... The wildlife fund had the initals for Longer so the Wrestling Federation Had to Change There Name. As Sad As It was but before in the early 1990's they got limited use but the high popularity of wwf in the late 90's caused the sue

They were faced with a lawsuit from the World Wildlife Federation because they also used the WWF initials on their campaigns. World Wrestling Federation decided to replace "Federation" with "Entertainment" to avoid a court battle. which is stupid as crap they shouldn't sue for the same initals
First, there is likely a criminal penalty and the minor can sue them for conversion of funds.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) sued the World Wrestling Federation (then also WWF, now WWE) as the Federation was misusing it's 'W.W.F.' initials.According to a 1994 agreement, the Federation had limited use of the initials overseas, and the Federation was severely violating it, particularly in merchandise.WWE are allowed to refer to the company as World Wrestling Federation, only the initials are disused, which means WWE cannot take legal action against the initials' use, notable examples are:The Ultimate Warrior signed autographs in a hotel near WrestleMania XXIV, but as the signs all said 'Former WWF Champion', they could not prevent the signingsTNA refer to the WWE usually as WWF and thus cannot be prosecuted for using the company's name or any other reason. The last WWE event to use the old WWF logo was the pay-per-view Insurrextion on 5 May 2002.
Yes
In most of the world, no, but you can press charges for assault. In the USA, you can probably sue them for anything you like.
