What are Batman and Odysseus similarities?

The best place to start is with the goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, liberty, mathematics, strength, military strategy and tactics, the arts, crafts, skill, medicine, and commerce. In the myths she was usually hostile to women, but favoured heroes, especially Odysseus with whom she took an uncharacteristically active role. So it seems reasonable to presume that Odysseus possessed those qualities Athena personified and we see these played out during the Trojan War and The Odyssey. The quality that stands out the most was his cunning. Also, among the famous Greek heroes most are part god, such as Heracles, Perseus, Theseus, and Achilles, friend of Odysseus. However, Odysseus is not divine.

It has been proposed that in the sense of modern myths Superman is akin to the demi-god Achilles and alongside Achilles is the non-superpowered human Odysseus, who is analogous to Batman. In Batman we have the cunning tactician as well as many other traits both associated with Odysseus as well as those qualities favoured by Athena, such as a desire for justice, courage, medicine (chemistry), invention, commerce (as Bruce Wayne), and of course Batman's famous strength of will.

In the DC mythology we often see a romantic pairing of Superman (Achilles) with Wonder Woman. Aside from her pro-female attitude she is the most like Athena and in the Justice League animated series we see Diana (Athena) forming a relationship with Batman (Odysseus) but like their ancient Greek counterparts they never consummate their relationship.
