The anime left out a lot I suggest you go read the manga. The anime ends at episode 26, where Tohru finds out about Kyo's true form. This is the end of book 6 in the manga. We haven't met the Rin (the horse), Machi, Kakeru... There are lots more secrets you discover if you continue reading the manga. You actually find out what happens at the end.
Hope this was helpful!! :D :D :D

A lot of popular anime comes from manga. Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, etc. If you prefer reading and getting a little more character development then go manga. If you like gluing your eyes to the brilliant comedy animation then anime. I have found myself on a couple of occasions not wanting to wait for new episodes of anime to come out so I pick up the manga. I think anime because when the popular manga was anime it became more interesting and more funny, but you choose!
