The heat exchanger is the most expensive part to replace in your heater. The recommended thing to do would be contact a professional and have it installed. Maintaining proper water chemistry is the key to not having to replace it again. I have seen them be ruined in less that a week due to improper balance. Find your owner's manual that came with the heater and they give explicit advice on taking care of your pool heater.

To change the heater core on a Chevy Celebrity: 1. Drain the coolant below the level of the heater core into a suitable container. 2. Under the hood remove the heater hoses from the heater core. Remove and save the two insulators and save for reuse. 3. Inside the car the heater core is behind the heater ducting on the passenger side below the glove box. 4. There are two covers that have to come off. One is a small cover on the right hand side of the main duct. It is held on with three screws one of which is hard to see. It is also held on with a sealant that makes it a tad hard to remove even with the screws out. 5. The larger cover is held on with a series of screws and clips. Remove them and take the larger cover off. 6. The heater core is held in place by two strap clamps, remove them and the heater core should pull out. Reverse the steps to install the new heater core. Refill with coolant and check for leaks.
