The next part is how I found it to be the easiest to get the top loose. lay down in the trunk on your back, grab the bottom of the seat back and while lifting use your elbows to push the top of the seat into the passenger compartment slightly. The top hooks will release and the seat will fall into the passenger compartment. An assistant really helps at this point.
