To remove the front wheel from a Kubota lawnmower, start by ensuring the mower is turned off and on a flat surface. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the nut securing the wheel to the axle, typically located at the center of the wheel. Once the nut is removed, pull the wheel straight off the axle. Repeat the process for the other front wheel if needed.

Begin by removing the wheel on the side of the axle you’re working on, then disconnect the axle from the wheel hub by removing the retaining nut. Next, detach the axle from the differential by removing the bolts securing it in place. Repeat the process for the other side if necessary.

To replace the boots, carefully slide the old boots off, clean the joint, and install new boots with the appropriate grease before reassembling the CV axle.
You have to buy the whole axle....cost about $486 on line from Coleman Equipment they do not sell individual parts. Kubota knows that these axles are only good for about 400 hours. this is some of the first junk that Kubota has made. Most of their stuff is good for at lease 2000 hours. Sad but true, the rear u joints can be bought on Ebay at about half price.
As long as you are mechanically inclined, and have a good place to work and some good tools, buy yourself a M4700 Service Manual from your Kubota dealer, and have at it. If not, then I'd recommend taking it to an Agricultural Service Shop or a Kubota dealer and having it fixed. Good luck!
You can go to many websites for detailed repair information, I like to use autozone myself, you have to do a free registration, enter the vehicle you are working on and the use the "repair guide" section. Most vehicles have detailed info for things like front axle seals. Good Luck !
