My mechanic replaced the heater core in my columbia. He removed most of the plastic interior dash panels starting with the large upper dash panel. Once you get enough plastic out of the way you'll find it. Be prepared to replace some of the cheap plastic bits and pieces in the process as you'll probably find them cracked. Mine is a 2007 model. The core is near the center to the right a little. Make sure you drain the radiator first as the core is part of the cooling system and likely doesn't have a shut off tap to isolate it.
To replace the heater core in a Freightliner FLD 120, start by disconnecting the battery and draining the coolant from the system. Remove the dashboard and any panels obstructing access to the heater core, then disconnect the hoses and mounting brackets. Carefully extract the old heater core and install the new one, ensuring all connections are secure. Reassemble everything in reverse order, refill the coolant, and check for leaks.
