One of My co-workers ran out of diesel in a,2004,Dodge 3500 Cummings truck
and need to know if it can start without going to the mech.shop?
Yes, on a 2003 and later all you need to do is add fuel, turn the key on and off about ten times to pump fuel up to the engine. It should now start.
My cat engine ran out of oil. I shut it off, fixed the problem then filled it with oil now it won't restart
Your Bendix is sticking on your starter!! get it rebuilt! it is not disengaging or engaging due to the heat!
The 2004 Nissan Altima's only problem is electrical. See if the battery is operating and is not dead. Source: Used Car Buying Guide 2007
you restart the game.
i dont think it can run once it is out of diesel
Fill up the fuel filter with diesel fuel before you try starting it.
To restart a 1999 7.3L turbo diesel after it has run out of fuel, first ensure you have added diesel fuel to the tank. Next, turn the ignition key to the "on" position for about 30 seconds to activate the fuel pump, allowing it to prime the system. After this, crank the engine for a few seconds; if it doesn't start, repeat the process of turning the key to the "on" position to help purge air from the fuel lines. Once it starts, let it run for a few minutes to ensure proper fuel delivery.
No they ran on Diesel
Not in any modern diesels. Some old diesel tractors from the 1940's where gasoline start and then ran on diesel once the engine was warm. Those did have carburetors. Not in any modern diesels.
