In Texas, you can transport up to 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel in a truck without needing a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a hazardous materials (hazmat) endorsement, as long as the fuel is not classified as hazardous waste. However, specific regulations may apply depending on the type of transport and the vehicle used. Always check local and federal regulations for any updates or additional requirements.
21 for the hazmat endorsement, nationwide, as per federal law.
No. Applicants for a hazmat endorsement are subject to a TSA background check. If you have a felony record, you won't pass the background check.
It's a federal requirement - doesn't matter what state you're in. You have to complete the written hazmat test, submit your fingerprints, and undergo a TSA background check. It costs something like $96 to do all this.
Depends on what the material inside the battery is. At surface level, it appears to be a quantity which requires the display of hazmat placards under CFR49... that requires a CDL with hazmat, regardless of the weight rating of the vehicle. J.J. Keller makes a hazmat hauler's guide which can be found at most truck stops... I'd strongly suggest you read through one before transporting these batteries. If you don't have access to one of these books, you can email me at the email address in my bio page, and I'll look it up in mine.
You can get a CDL at 18 in any state. However, if you want to operate a CMV interstate or get a hazmat endorsement, you must be 21.
Yes. However, your chances of finding employment as a CDL driver with a felony conviction are slim, and you won't be eligible to receive a Hazmat endorsement.
3.30 per gallon
This one is applicable nationwide, as it's a matter of federal law - you must be 21 to get a hazmat endorsement.
A felon cannot get a hazmat endorsement anywhere in the US. This is a federal matter, and does not vary between states. Beginning in 2005, a TSA background check and fingerprinting became required for a hazmat endorsement. This was in response to both the September 11th attacks and the theft of two propane tankers (later recovered) in Texas which were feared to have been stolen for the purpose of a terrorist attack (although someone who'll steal a propane tanker isn't likely to care about having an endorsement or not).
According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, "Texas horned lizards range from the south-central United States to northern Mexico, throughout much of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico." I live in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and I've seen several horned lizards here.
It would depend greatly on your method of transport
