I believe what you're talking about is that there is two timing tabs on the motor. One at 1 o'clock and 1 at 5 o'clock. The top one is hard to see so gm put one on the bottom where it is easier to get to or see. If you use the top tab you hook your timing light to the #1 plug wire and if you use the bottom tab you hook to the #5 wire
Check if you have secondary timing marks installed. Mine are bolted to the oil pan and easily accessible from the bottom. Instead of using cyl #1 for setting the timing, you will have to use #5 or #8 (to make up for the 90 degrees offset to the factory timing marks
the timing marks for that year Mazda are on the crank pulley and corresponding marks are on the timing belt cover.
The 1986 Mercedes-Benz timing marks can be found on the main pulley. The timing marks will be scattered around the outside of the pulley.
they are under the timing hole cover in the top of the transmission. it is a large(27mm) Allen plastic nut remove it to see the timing marks
you missed your timing marks by at lest 180 degrees do it again. be alert its a fun one to do
I thought that timing was measured off the crank gear and the cam gear. Not the flywheel :P
on the harmonic balancer there is a notch that represents 0 degrees and usually there are also stamped marks indicating degrees of advance and retard
That would be the 400 turbo.
Fleetwood doesn't make their own chassis, and they've always offered a wide range of models and classes of motorhome. As is, we don't know if you have a Class A, B, or C motorhome, meaning we don't know what chassis it was built on, and we don't know what the engine is. This info would be necessary in order to answer your question.
The timing mark on all 305 to 400 small block Chevrolet engines from 73 to 87 is on the hamonic balancer which is the pulley behind the crankshaft and has no belt grooves...smooth with a split line on it....that line is the timing mark.
there is no timing belt it has a timing chain
