yes a power train control module failure can cause transmission problems.

I've reading alot on this latley, and seem to be having the same problem. I believe it can. I am going to replace my ignition control module tonight and see if my injectors then start working on my K2500 7.4

The engine control module can affect cylinders. But if its only a 4 cylinder, cancelling out just one out of 4 isn't likely to be a computer. Its not the most likely cause, but it is definetely possible.
