The ignition module is screwed to the base plate of the distributor. Remove the distributor cap and rotor. Remove the two screws that hold it to the base plate. Unplug the two wiring clips from each end and replace.
test ignition coil,ignition module,pick-up coil,electronic spark control,and knock sensor
The ignition module on a 5.7 Chevy engine should be on top of the motor. It is mounted beside the distributor.
It is the engine control module (computer)
The distributor don't, But the ignition module that is bolted inside of the distributor does have a part in the fuel pump running.
The computer module, or ignition control module, is locate on the left inner fender.
If you have coils it is underneath the coil pack.If you have a distributor...it is either in the distributor or mounted close to the distributor housing on the engine or firewall.
There is no such thing as resetting the pick-up module
The ignition module, Ignition coil, Pick-up coil bad coil wire.
NO it does not. If it's not firing then you need to check the ignition module, pick-up coil and the coil. Could just have a bad coil wire......
The ignition control module on a 2.5L Fiero is changed by removing the lower steering column panel, disconnecting the wiring harness, and unbolting the module. A new module is then bolted in and the wires reattached. I owned one of these and never saw a ignition box of any kind in this location. The 1985 to 1988 had distributorless ignition. The module is held to the bracket by the ignition coil screws. To change remove the 4 screws holding coils on, seperate the coils from the module, unplug the module, depending on year 1 or two harnes plugs. To assemble reverse process. 1984n the module lives under the rotor inside the distributor cap and has two wires from the harnes and two that run to the pick up coil. Two screws and 4 wires to change
how do you remove the ignition switch on a 1990 chevy half ton pick-up?
Yes. It has TBI (throttle body injection) that is run by the ECM (engine control module).
