It could be a bad brake light switch. You have to step on the brake to shift it out of park.

Hi i have an 2001 Chevy impala and my service traction Light is on. plus my safety brake is locked
Check the operation nd alignment of the stop light switch located at the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
VW brake light switches are known to be faulty. I would have your dealer check your VIN number to see if there are any outstanding recalls for a brake light switch. Try pumping the brakes while the car is parked and see if they will go off..
try releasing the brake This happened to me, too, after I used the brake (which I don't do often, but I was parked on a steep hill). I assumed e-brake cable or something was simply stuck. In other words, I wasn't too concerned. Turns out the brake light was on because my brakes desperately needed to be replaced. Once I did that, the light went out. So in my case it was just a coincidence. Perhaps in yours, too. (Eventually the light stayed on all the time.)
There are several things that can cause your brake light fuse to blow and keep your 1994 Ford F3 50 locked in park. The most common cause is a malfunctioning neutral safety switch.
If your 2005 Suzuki Forenza shifter is locked in park, it may be due to a malfunctioning brake light switch, which prevents the shifter from moving unless the brake pedal is pressed. Check if the brake lights are working; if not, replacing the brake light switch could resolve the issue. Additionally, ensure that the shift interlock mechanism is functioning properly. If these steps don’t work, it may be best to consult a mechanic for further inspection.
To change the brake light on a Nissan Urvan NV350, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked safely. Open the rear door to access the brake light assembly. Remove any screws or clips securing the assembly, then gently pull it out to access the bulb. Replace the old bulb with a new one, reassemble the light housing, and test the brake light to ensure it functions properly.
push your parking {emergency} brake down one click. that not enough to engage the brake or cause any drag on the brakes , but the truck will think its parked, as the daytime runnig light switch on the e-brake pedal will disengage. only one setback though, the brake light on the dash WILL light.
