Edinburgh is located in the southeastern part of Scotland, situated on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. It lies approximately 400 miles north of London and about 50 miles west of the North Sea coast. The city is bordered by the Pentland Hills to the south and the Firth of Forth to the north.
There are two bridges over the Firth of Forth. The rail bridge and the road bridge.
