As of my last update in October 2023, Afghanistan is the latest country to join the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). It became a member in 2007, making it the eighth member of the organization, which includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. There have been no new members added since then.
