Though the company's website lists it as free, it is wise to assume that any company offering a free product is getting something in return. I have not personally downloaded the app myself, but there are two main ways "free" apps are actually making money for their owners. One is by having advertisements in the app (I do not know if Pico does this). The other is by asking for lots of access to your information in order to use the app. For example: Gmail is free, but Google monitors emails that the users send to try and figure out good ways to sell users products. Many companies ask for user information and sell it to advertising companies to make a profit. When you download Pico, pay special attention to the permissions it asks you to give it and if it wants permission for things that seem unecessary (like access to read your texts or look at your files, for example) it depends on whether you're comfortable with that or not. Other than that, it appears as though no actualy money is charged.
