Jungle.com was the former company Software Warehouse based in Birmingham. For a while they were a successfully expanding business but I believe that as a result of over-expansion and a lack of focus as to whether they were internet based or retail shop based plus recession and competition from the likes of dabs brought financially difficulty. I remember ordering from them in their latter days and there was a distinct lack of stock and staff were struggling to keep it going. the business was eventually sold to Argos who incorporated it into their catalogue shopping system and expanded the range of computer hardware. The intention was I believe for Argos to use Jungle.com to get into the on line retailing but this never really took off. Argos was not primarily a computer based retailer. For some time entering jungle.com would redirect you to Argos - and as a result most former customers went elsewhere as jungle.com customers wanted to order from a PC supplier not a general supplier such as Argos. because of this the name just withered away. The founder of Software warehouse/jungle.com did write an interesting history/autobiography and it was published shortly after the Argos takeover. Can't remember its name offhand but I still have a copy stored away somewhere
