There are great advantages in outsourcing (especially overseas) if the provider can understand your business. That is usually the disconnect...the business "reasoning" is hard to translate across many oceans. I managed a team of over 100 developers...and I had to go over to India every month...mainly to get on my soap box and discuss the vision of the business.
