Yes and no. It is actually a series of parallel circuits, and a series of series circuits. The compressor is in itself a series circuit, but it has permissive circuits wired in parallel to allow it to operate. For instance: the oil pressure, thermostat, thermal overload device are all wired in series so that all permissives have to be met before the compressor can run as a parallel resistive load. The door light is also a parallel/series situation in which the door switch is wired in series to actuate the light, but the light is a single parallel load. Usually speaking, permissives or loads that are wired with "and" type inputs are series (it needs this AND this AND this to operate). Whereas loads that need only "or" type inputs are parallel ( it needs this "OR" this to run).
