Answer; BIOS. The BIOS firmware settings are used by the computer to test and make sure that the systems hardware which includes the storage media, RAM, power supply and several other computer pheripherals are working correctly.
It is a measurement on how fast your CPU is working. It does not (really) tell you anything about the REAL PERFORMANCE. For that you need much, much, more data about the system.

To tell if your camera is working go onto accesories settings in the settings panel, select 'Camera Device Settings' and if your camera is working a red light will come on and you should see the room that the camera is in. He had to adjust the settings until it was working the way he wanted it to.
Since its after May third it should be working now.
