To get the mac address you will need to use Address Resolution Protocol (ARP). Pretty much this will show an IP address and then give you the MAC address of that computers network card.
As for the user changing it. Obviously you cant prevent a user from spoofing a MAC address, but as far as I am aware you cant change it permenently. So I dont think there is very much to worry about there. Also, unless you are dealing with technically minded people, I would doubt that they would even know how to spoof a MAC never mind change it (if its possible that is - which, like I have already said I really dont think it is)
Once the router/adaptor received the destination IP address (even if we entered in the incorrect MAC address) the router/adapter would remove the IP address from the Ethernet frame and using ARP, would get the correct MAC address of the destination
It's not true. You can use a dynamic ip address to use remote desktop! Problem with dynamic ip addresses is that it can be changed any time, and you will not able to connect to your PC. The best way is to use full computer name. It does not depend on ip address.
If you cannot connect to the remote server by host name, but can by IP address-which utility should be used to identify the cause of the problem?
There are many places one can find information in regards to the Apple Remote Desktop Support. The best place is going directly to the Apple website where they can be contacted through their email address or phone number.

Remote desktop needs the IP Address to locate the computer Because having a static IP address means that this IP address is permanent and will never change unless the administrator changes it. On the other hand, having a Dynamic IP address that changes everyday or when the adminsitrator decides to change the settings, makes it very difficult to access a computer at home or remotely.

At first vpn hides IP address and it changes IP address in a remote site. It gives the scope to surf anonymously on internet and access in a remote site. More details are in related links section.
The correct spelling is "remotely" (from a distance, slightly).

Dish Network satellite receivers can be programmed to operate on different remote control addresses. Switching to a different address is necessary if you have 2 satellite receivers or if your neighbor's receiver is set on the same remote address and they are changing your channels. # Press the Mode button until the remote is in the SAT mode. # Press the Address button once (the SAT mode light will start flashing). # Use the numeric key to enter an address between 1 and 15 (do not put a 0 in front of single-digit addresses; 1 is the default remote address). The SAT mode light will stop flashing and stay lit. # Press the Address button again to save the change to the remote control. If you entered a valid remote address, the SAT mode light will blink 3 times. # Make sure the satellite receiver is Powered-off. If not, power the satellite receiver off and wait 15 seconds. # Press the Info button on the front of the satellite receiver. This will bring up the "Important System Information" menu. # Press the red Record button the the remote. The screen will update and the "remote address" listed on the screen will change to the new remote address of the remote control.
You might have to make some changes to your spam filter. You can do this through your settings for the best results.

The DISH remotes don't actually have a specific address button. To access that mode, press and hold the mode button until all the lights on the remote turn on. Once you let go the light will be blinking. From there you can enter a code to program the remote, then press the Pound (#) button!

It depends upon the type TV you have. The remote uses a code that is associated with that type of TV.
